Trick for Opening Stubborn Watches

I scored a awesome 1970s Pulsar watch from a yard sale earlier this month. When I went to open the watch back to replace the batteries I realized this was one of those crazy double notch types which can be difficult to open. After a few minutes of google searches I found that people use calipers when they do not have proper zero friction watch tools. They worked great.

Vrety nice, I dont have that LED Watch in my LEDwwatch collection, i have some larger pulsar's lots of timex/bolova/TI...

I actually have a watch/camera spanner, so i probably wont need the trick, but its good to know (id use a cheap caliber because of chance of bending)

you can also often place the watch down on a large eraser then place another eraser on the back and push down and twist. give the side button a single drop of sewing machine oil while you are swapping out the battery.

Good point about the erasers. I've seen rubber balls being sold as for a similar technique. I could imagine a blue racquetball working as well.
