A Sweet Bounty

I am glad we did not get all full size fruit trees, we got more than a few dwarfs. And any future fruit trees that I buy will be dwarfs. Today we tried to pit and freeze one day's picks from our peach tree plus we juiced some apples from yesterday's trip to the farm where we picked 4 bags of apples.

Wow - great harvest! The apples and peaches look super! ... I'll be getting some local Michigan apples soon to make and freeze our supply of homemade applesauce.

Dwarf fruit trees are valued because they produce just about as much fruit as full sized trees, they do it far younger, and much less laddering needed.

Yes, Dwarf does not mean small harvest, it just means shorter/smaller adult plant sizes.

For small scale farming (which is essentially what you're doing) then dwarf trees are probably the best choice in most cases.
