How to quit smoking

I hate to admit that I have had a long on and off love affair with smoking tobacco. It defies who I am, a yogi and for many years was a vegan. I have no aversions to renunciation and easily get rid of whatever threatens to have a hold over me. I like smoking. There is something leisurely about the minutes of repose that a smoke offers.

I'm a non smoker right now. I miss the activity though so I searched out a tobacco free natural herbal smoke on the web. I found K2 Citron, a combination of common herbs including the familiar calendula blossom. Sounds innocuous right? I rolled up a cigarette of Citron and lit it on route to Albuquerque, a 2.5 hr drive. A few minutes later I wondered, "Am I high?" "Couldnt be." Then again, "I think I'm high!"

Since I'm easily swayed by the power of suggestion, later that day I lit another cigarette for a 2nd test. High again! When I got home I ran to Mikey "You gotta try this." Yep, he got high too. The high is super duper relaxing, gentle and gives rise to creative bursts. It's not overwhelming and lasts about 1 hour.

My conclusion: if your quitting smoking and need something to smoke for the occasions that you think may slide you back to a tobacco cig, try K2s Citron. And if you find pot to be too strong or if it makes you paranoid, you might just find that this is a great alternative.

Surely its worth asking if replacing one smoke for another is really "quitting." But since Citron is not tobacco (and not addictive), and I think it's a worthy trade off. My guess is that its a smoke you'll just forget about one day. By then, you're off tobacco.

does it seem strong enough to prevent someone from getting things done? for me, the thought "i think im high!" is normally followed by an inability to get off the couch for a while.

dkg: I'd say there is a good 15 minutes that you will just want to relax on the couch after smoking K2. After that the motivation returns and you are clear headed enough to start some work. A much faster recovery time than other drugs or alcohol.

as a non-pot smoker I have to say that I'm really enjoying the creative thinking K2's Citron activates. i typically think of this as a feature of smoking pot. only pot makes me super paranoid so I dont go near it. anyway, it's "productive" for creativity though I am not sure I'd get up and "do" stuff on it because it's so totally relaxing. mikey and I have also both observed vivid dreaming on the two evenings that we smoked it.

a tobacco free natural herb option sounds like a big step in the right direction. perhaps this in combination with other options will help. i have a video here of a guy named charles. he quit through other means and his story became part of the aha moment tour, mutual of omaha is conducting.

if enough people vote for him he'll make it in to their ad campaign for 2010. we'd like to see a quitting smoking message make it.

take a look and if you like vote. if you really like it tell friends.

thanks,
