What's Ripe Stew al la India

It has been a daily challenge to come up with ways to eat what's ripe in the garden. This dish was last nights dinner (and today's lunch). It's comprised of a thick stew-like sauce made of herbs: coriander (from the garden), garam masala, cumin, tumeric, cayenne (mixed in a bit of water and cooked down in ghee) about 1.5 cups of coconut milk (home made by mikey from bulk shredded coconut). Added to this a corn and squash puree (from the garden) that I made in the food processor, and added to this whole peeled potatoes (from the garden), sliced red pepper and at the last minute cherry tomatoes. I topped it off with a bit of agave nectar for sweetening and fresh parsley (from the garden) and put it over jasmine rice. The red pepper and tomatoes added a lovely bright kick to a hearty base.

The Clearlake – Lake County, Ca is very similar to Sierra County in the mix of folks that populate it. The local radio coming out of Mendocino County features a Renewable energy show every other week and bi-yearly, an on-air classified type show. What impressed me is that each item called in was commented on by the host as to its use and how it fit in the timeline of solar in particular. (lots of veggy fuel equipment, vehicles for sale. It appears earlier off the grid operations are now converting to grid tie and so are selling off older equipment. We haven't gotten our boats on the water because we have been tied up with other things, then the Forth came and we avoid that kind of traffic. I am using an ATT connect card – slow & expensive but functions in our transitory situation. We left our cherry tomatoes, in full production mode and miss them. Glad ya'all are getting a monsoon. We hope to be moving on from B.J. Wall's RV & Trailer Park in Nice (as in France) CA soon
