We used a new Rustoleum product to paint the tank. They sell a non aerosol sort of spray paint that works pretty well. I think it took three cans and about 30 minutes. Not cheap @ $25, but but spraying helped to get the paint behind all the metal bars.

We have the exact same water tank here in MN. How did you paint this? What kind of paint and how did you apply it?
