Not sure if we intentionally planted this sunflower. It is the tallest in the yard now peaking over our 6' front fence. Probably trying to get the setting west sun.
That's a really artistic picture, especially if you up the contrast a bit, and, maybe?, photoshop out the powerlines; but I'm a sucker for sunflowers, and the best ones are often volunteers.
If you feed birds, you'll get tons, along with tons and tons of amaranth, which is a great summer green food crop, and nice seed grain. It will taunt the cats though.
