Parsnips

Wendy is really into cooking parsnips. It is pretty uncommon to find them on restaurant menus. We usually eat them like french fries. I'm surprised they like our climate so much. The leaves look a bit like giant parsley.

parsnips are one of my favorites. there's a wonderful food writer called Jane Grigson who wrote a cookbook called Good Things. she has a whole CHAPTER of heavenly parsnip recipes.....yummest.
