I can't really see what's going on in this pic. do you have anymore? more pics in general -- I'd love to see more of what you are talking about with your different projects. Really cool stuff!
I just started with a new mother, my first, but I was reading on another site that said you can cut out the black spot and just start over. I think it will just take awhile to get it back to it's original size.
I am pretty sure that with Kombucha, if it's not fuzzy, it's not mold. Kombucha mothers can get all kind of weird discolorations, especially as they get older. But I can't really tell from the picture...
