Co-op - Local Food Security
There are moments that remind me just how precious small town life is. Tonight we attended the first meeting regarding the establishment of a local food co-op. Thanks to the generosity of Shahid Mustafa of Mountain View Co-op in Las Cruces, we have guidance with a great deal of experience. I was particularly fascinated to find a local cattle guy there. I believe he was interested in providing locally grown beef. Yes to democratically run natural grocery, better ethics, purer ingredients and to supporting companies that demonstrate integrity! And yes to food security in S. New Mexico!

Yeah, I don't think beef really fits with those other ideas.
I really want to hear how you guys organize this co-op. We've been discussing in our local group(http://shenandoah.lefora.com), but the details are daunting.
Hi! I've been reading your blog for a while and it's inspiring. I work at a food co-op and I'm so excited to hear of your plans for starting a new one.
Part of the Cooperative Principles is cooperation between co-ops. There are tons of resources for new coops out there.
