We picked up about $170 in organic bulk food from our local food coop today. We will be storing these food stuffs in 5 gallon plastic buckets with the lids on to keep out bugs and mold. Our order consisted of:
- 25lbs jasmin rice
- 50lbs white unbleached flour
- 25lbs of chic peas
- 25lbs of black beans
The savings are pretty incredible when you compare to what we had been paying per pound for these items. That and the end of the global economy is coming.

I am hoping to seen a economic collapse before the '08 election in November. However, I have no idea if it will occur at all.
Why are you hoping to see it? Is it a matter of sustainability or gloating? Oooh, I don't mean it to sound snotty, I love what you guys are doing... I just want to know where you're coming from. Is the collapse a good thing for the planet in your eyes? Can you give me a few more months to get ready? LOL!
I would like to see a economic collapse slow down our consumerism based society. Perhaps a new appreciation woukd develop for tools, food, and energy. I would also like to gloat.
