Concentrated Solar Power (CSPs)

Concentrated Solar Power (CSPs) are the great hope for clean global energy. If 11% of New Mexico were covered with CSP plants we could power all of the United States. I put together a mindmap showing the major players in the CSP world.

Great chart! Where did you find the 11% statistic?

I think the 11% figure came from the book "Earth - The Sequel".

You can apply this general rule forn CSP sizing to confirm it.

Every MW of CSP requires 5 acres of land.

Our neighbors just purhased 7400 acres if they placed CSPs across that much land they could generate nearly 1.5GW of power.

Then all they'd need to do is get up to 88 mph and they'd be BACK TO THE FUTURE

Yeah, that is pretty close. The back to the future line was 1.21GW. NM can beat that with 15 100MW plants. California should be getting close to the back to the future level at this point if you count what is currently being installed.
