Recently a recycling enthusiast posed the question to me of what to do with all the tofu containers. You can see that as we are making pizza today I was using them as little containers to hold our toppings. I've also used them to grow plantlets from seed under my LED grow lights. I think there are many applications for nuts and bolts to electronics where these work great. Don't forget their excellent stacking capability whether full or empty.

Good idea! I've sprouted plants in the before too.
Yeah, all these containers from tofu are a pain if no one makes bulk tofu in your area. I try to buy the silken tofu in the vacuum pack boxes, which are like juice boxes, so you can usually recycle them. Silken tofu is a little different to cook with however.
What recycling number are the tofu boxes? One confusing thing is that even if they are 1 or 2, you still can't recycle these in a lot of places like New York City because it's not in the form of a bottle with a seam, and is therefore actually a different kind of plastic. The whole recycling plastic number system has to be reformed to be truly informative!
